Most healthy active persons are able to return to sports activities after a meniscus surgery. For a meniscectomy (removal of the tear) this usually occurs 6-8 weeks after surgery. For a meniscus repair (suturing of the tear), it takes longer as you are on crutches for 4-6 weeks, then go through rehab.
