Question - Numbness In Dermal Area of Thigh

After 20 years away from water skis I tried to do a deep water start. I failed after four tries i developed a "charly horse" in my right buttock and called it quits. The "charley horse" went away but the numbness in the skin of my quad has not.

Should I be concerned?

Give it a few days

You could have irritated a nerve with your skiing activity - I would keep an eye on the numbness and see how it feels (or doesn't feel) in a day or two before becoming too concerned. Nerve irritation can sometimes last for a few hours or a few days and then go away.

If you notice it spreading, have associated weakness, or start having pain, then I would get in to see your doctor and have it checked out.

Hope this helps - comment back if you have other questions.
