A patella stabilizer may help
by: Bart - SII

The most common brace for patella femoral syndrome is a patella stabilizer. This type of knee brace goes around the patella and provides some compression which helps to relieve stress on the soft tissue around the patella, which is what is usually irritated with patella femoral syndrome.

A brace may help with your pain, but you really also need to be involved in some type of rehabilitation that will help permanently correct the problem. Exercises with an ATC or PT that focus on improving your strength, flexibility, and mobility is the best way to really treat this problem.
