patella femoral syndrome recovery
by: Bart - SII

Most of the time after a diagnosis of patella femoral syndrome, a physician will recommend rehabilitation for 4-6 weeks. After that time, they will re-evaluate to determine if there is improvement - if there is, then perhaps another 4-6 weeks of therapy. If not, then perhaps considering surgery or other interventions.

Recovery can take anywhere from 1-6 months, depending on the therapist and what kind of problems have to be addressed - flexibility, weakness, poor balance, etc.

Most of my patients see results in the first 2-3 weeks, with a full recovery in 6-8.
