Question - patella tendon strain

My 10 year old daughter has just strained her patella tendon, landing awkwardly doing gymnastics. We have seen a physiotherapist, who has strapped up the knee. My daughter still finds it very painful to put any weight on the knee, and finds it hard to walk. How long will it be before she can start doing any physical activities again?

Depends on how severe the strain is. Likely 4-6 weeks to return to activities if it is a significant strain. Working with the physiotherapist will help speed the recovery - working on getting her walking again and then strengthening to get her back to normal.
