surgery for pec. tear, what are my options? NEW

pec. tear, told last week that this cannot be fixed using orthroscopic surgery and that doc had to open my shoulder about 3 inches so he can remove scar tissue and reattach tendon to the bone that has torn off. He says he has to anchor my tendon to the bone or drill a hole to secure tendon. I'm getting a 2nd opinion on monday to make sure that this is the proper procedure to go forward with. Is it?, i don't know. It scares the hell out of me.

The suture reattachment is the standard aproach, second opinions are always nice. I have a 2 and a half year old pec rupture im trying to get fixed with no insurance
