While these techniques may produce dramatic results in controlling swelling and reducing pain (as will adequate doses of pain medications and anti-inflammatories) there is no way to speed healing. The fact that an injured area is no longer painful does not mean it is healed, as the healing process takes months for the body to complete.

Tony, it really depends on what type of injury to the tendon you are talking about, as well as other factors including extent of injury, time since initial injury, type of activities, overall health of the person, and surrounding joint biomechanics. Can you give a little more information on your injury?

Ankle treatment
by: drc@docconway.com

The fastest way to correct an injured ankle is by a process of what is called the MyoFascial Disruption Technique. This manual treatment to the ankle tendon, muscle and fascia can provide pain relief withing 30 minutes and have the person walking pain free in two to three treatments. The old way of treating has athletes off of the field for up to 4 to 5 weeks now you can have them back on the field in less than a week.
