Question - Sprained Wrist (thumb/palm/wrist pain)

I have pain that goes from my thumb to the palm of my hand and into my wrist, could i have sprained it? It also gets stiff quite often, especially when i first wake up.

It sounds like it could be a wrist sprain, or it could be a strain of the muscles that move your thumb.

Do you remember doing anything that caused an injury to your thumb or wrist recently, or was this something that just came out of the blue? Most of the time a wrist sprain comes from some type of injury, or repetitive stresses on the tissues.

If this is causing you significant pain or problems using your hand normally, you should definitely get in to see your doctor and have it checked out.
