Compression wrap and pad...
by: Bart - SII

Quad strains have a tendency to swell quite a bit, especially if it is a mid muscle strain of a grade II or III. When it comes to compression, an elastic bandage wrapped around the thigh, starting with more pressure down the leg and working looser as you move up works best. You can also try a small foam pad over the area that is strained, or the area that is most painful, as this will help to localize the compression to the injured area of muscle.

As with any compression wrap, make sure that it isn't applied to tightly and that the circulation is maintained.

Hope this helps - comment back if you have other questions.
