Complete removal or just part of the meniscus?
by: Bart - SII

If you have had your entire medial meniscus removed, then returning to basketball may be difficult because of the loss of shock absorption. However, complete removal of the meniscus is not very common - usually there is some amount remaining.

If you have only lost a portion of the meniscus, then returning to basketball should be possible, although it may take some time and you may have occasional swelling or pain.

Hope this helps - comment back with other questions.
