Question - Wrist Injury (bike accident)

by Sushil

3 weeks ago my bike was skid. When I fall down on road I used my left hand to save my self. Then I got a wrist sprain. There is no swelling or severe pain in my wrist.

When I twist my wrist or push some thing it pains. I went to doctor he said for rest and wrist support, from then I have used wrist support of more than 22 hours in a day for last 3 weeks with Volini gel and medicine. It’s still paining.

I want to know what is it. And how much time it would take to be recovered. I used go gym. When could I be able to join the gym again?

Waiting for your valuable suggestion

Support is good, but you need to move it some too
by: Bart - SII

After 3 weeks, you should be healing well inside the wrist - I would talk to your doctor about exercises to work on moving the wrist and regaining range of motion. Usually these consist of moving the wrist in a pain free range of motion - bending and extending, moving in circles, etc., only going as far as you can without it hurting.

Wearing the brace for support when you are doing things like lifting or pushing is a good idea, but you probably need to start moving it too. Talk to your doctor to see what you should be doing for the best recovery.

Hope this helps - comment back with other questions.
