Question - wrist strain (pain after fall)

by Josh
(Leeds)

I fell badly on my wrist, and it got pushed backward to its full movement and even futher.
I can move my fingers and wrist like normal,
but i have pain in my wrist. Also there is swelling further up and the skin is fairly tight.

What do you think i have done? The problem is i go on holiday on the 31st of july.

thank you for your time

Could be a sprain, could be a fracture
by: Bart - SII

With a fall on the wrist you could have a sprain of the wrist, a strain of the muscles, or possibly a fracture of one of the carpal bones. My best recommendation would be to get it looked at by a doctor and have an X-ray taken just to make sure it isn't fractured. You doctor will then be able to give you recommendations on the best treatment options.

Since you are on a time table with a holiday in a few weeks, it would be best to get this looked at now so you can get your recovery started.

Hope this helps - comment back with other questions.
