RCL Tear at humeral connection

I had an MRI arthrogram and was dx with a RCL (radial collateral ligament) tear at the humeral joint. It is a partial thickness tear with bony avulsion. Only sx was recommended. It this the case, should I get a 2nd opinion. my MD is a UE ortho only and has done 10 RCL repairs in his career. I am a mom of 3 and understand this is an extensive repair & recovery. I am looking for any suggestions, support or other information.
