The rehabilitation after a broken ankle is very similar to that of an ankle sprain, once the initial fracture has healed. The goals of improving strength, balance, endurance, etc. are the same.

There are several exercises listed in the rehab section of this site. Ankle Sprain Solutions would also provide for a comprehensive ankle strengthening program that would work.
