salter harris 2 fracture of ankle

The injury occurred almost 6 weeks ago. She was in a hard cast for 5 weeks and then was put in an air cast/walking boot for the next 4 weeks. She is 10 years old. When would you expect her to be walking comfortably in the walking boot. Also do you have any idea how long before she is able to return to normal activites?

It will likely take a couple weeks to get to walking normally and comfortably again. Her body has to re-adjust to normal walking and the stress on the ankle - especially true since she has been in a cast or boot for 10 weeks now.

Returning to activities will be dependent upon your physician, and when she is able to build up her strength and regain all of her motion.
