Sharon's hip flexor pain

I am not an athlete and trying to get into shape at age 58 when you are overweight is a lot of work! I had used the elliptical, treadmill, and rower at the gym for several years and liked them but fell out of habit for about a year.

When my husband asked what I wanted for mother's day I requested an elliptical for the house. We both enjoyed it but about 6 weeks ago I developed hip pain. I tried going back on the elliptical, going slower and less time but it was agony. I have now been "resting" for 5 weeks and my hip pain is worse. I can hardly get up the steps and bending over to pick things up is a work in progress. Guess it is time to go the dr rather than trying to do stretches and ODing on ibuprofen! I had no idea it can take that long for a strain to go away!

Seeing the doctor would be a good idea - they can evaluate you and see what is wrong - then therapy after would help fix any problems you are having - mobility restrictions, weakness or muscle imbalance, etc.
