Shin Pain

I had my acl repaired on Friday January 16th and there is constant pain in my upper shin under the bandage, I was wondering if this is the area he drilled into and no matter how much medication I take the pain does not subside. Also, when I touch the area it feels numb, is this common?

depending on the graft type, there was likely some drilling at the very top of the tibia, just below the patella. But, the bone pain from the tunnels can extend down into the shin. Also, swelling in the shin and lower leg can cause pain.

the numbness may be normal, especially if it is toward the outside of the knee around the patella. I would talk with your surgeon if the pain is severe.
