Strain, Tight or Over Stretched???? Hip Flexors.

I know that I have a problem with my hip flexors. I just am not sure which problem I have.

I am a Yoga Teacher and also teach Body Definition. Quite a few classes each week.
One morning I came to Yoga and could not lean my body weight forward, from a sitting position, onto the the knee in front of me. It hurts more to lift up to flex than to stretch.

So I am wondering if I should continue to stretch, although it may be injured or should I not do anything, RICE and see if that helps?

If I am doing a stretch, the hip that is being stretched feels a lot better that the one that is flexed.

Any suggestions,

Possibly strained...

It could be that you have a bit of a strain in your hip flexors...however, it seems odd that this would come on all of a sudden, and in both sides.

How would you describe the pain you are having? It is sharp, achey, dull, etc? Does it feel like a stretch, a pinch, or a pull? Where is it located - deep in the joint, along the muscle, etc.

There are so many different factors that can contribute to an injury it is hard for me to give specific advice. The best thing is usually to try R.I.C.E. and see how it feels in a day or two. If it gets worse, then get in to see your Doctor.
