I tore my acl when I was 13...
I'm a huge lacrosse player and I had just made a select lacrosse team.
I tore my acl at a lacrosse tournament at the beginning of the summer. When I tore it I was just running around the goal and I literally just fell down...nobody hit me. I felt a pop and my team mates say they heard a pop. Everybody said I didn't tear anything because I was so young. But it turns out that I did. When I was told I had to get surgery I was horrified. In the 3 weeks I had before surgery my knee became just as strong as it was before.
The day before my surgery I was an emotional wreck...I was scared. But my doctor told me that after this surgery I will be stronger as a student, as an athlete and as a person, because after I will have to make my knee, and basically my entire leg stronger than before.
Now I have been working hard with my physical therapist and it pays off... Because the harder I work, the sooner I will be back playing lacrosse!
