Torn ACL, 4 days post-op

Well back in May I was in a dirt biking accident, landing with my leg straight as a rod and then collapsing. I had feared ACL and to my delight, found out I was correct. I waited 2 months and had a scope done on my knee to confirm that my right ACL was 100% torn. Fast forward a bit and I am now 4 days post surgery with a hamstring autograft. The pain was moderate the day of the surgery, but I was able to walk out on crutches (don't worry the painkillers are great!). So after three whole days in bed, with constant cooling of the knee (this is important, and great for helping the pain!), I am feeling pretty good! pain has subsided to almost nothing (other than some tenderness in the hamstring) and I am able to walk around without crutches. I am not able to walk for long periods of time, or straighten/bend my leg fully, but it is full weight bearing. So don't worry, it's totally normal to be scared for surgery, I was horrified too. Believe me, it's easier than your mind scares you in to thinking, the surgery really isn't all that terrible! So stay strong and good luck with your ACL repair!
