weakness in left knee

Hello, my name is Chris. I have been having weakness flair up in my left knee when I am excercising. I play soccer and it usually begins during warmups, but quits after I am warm. However, lately the weakness has stayed around. It doesn't affect me until I try to take off on a sprint, or plant my left foot preparing for a shot with my right. It usually happens when my knee is bent between 90 degrees and straight. I just wanted to see if you might be able to give me some possible reasons why the weakness once was able to be worked through, but now is sticking around longer! Thanks for your time and help!

Kind Regards,

Chris

Did you ever have a specific injury to this knee? Twisted funny, got hit, etc?

Sometimes what feels like weakness, especially when it comes around just once in awhile or goes away after you get warmed up can actually be something else. I have had patients with meniscus tears or joint irritation (mild swelling) that have had similar complaints.

I would recommend seeing your doctor about it, just to see if you can get some more specific information.
