An update on my recovery...
I tore my ACL Oct 3,2008 (Posted story earlier), had surgery (hamstring graft) on Oct 31st,2008.
I saw my surgeon on the 3rd of this month and he said my knee was solid and on Tuesday of this week, I graduated from PT. My therapist said "you don't need us anymore"!! Best of all, I took my first flights since the accident. Wednesday, I hit the hill (5 1/2 months post injury/ 4 1/2 months post surgery) and had 4 flights (paragliding). It was heaven!!! My knee felt great. I had no problems at all and am looking forward to heading to the Alps to fly in 8 weeks!
When I first realized the extent of my injury, I thought it would be forever before I would be able to fly again. I won't say that time flew by, but I put my focus on PT and gradual steps. It worked for me and I just want to let everyone know you will be back too (before you know it!)
Hang in there and focus on your gains, not your setbacks, because you will experience both on the road to recovery. Stay positive!
