YEAH!!! I'm back!

An update on my recovery...

I tore my ACL Oct 3,2008 (Posted story earlier), had surgery (hamstring graft) on Oct 31st,2008.

I saw my surgeon on the 3rd of this month and he said my knee was solid and on Tuesday of this week, I graduated from PT. My therapist said "you don't need us anymore"!! Best of all, I took my first flights since the accident. Wednesday, I hit the hill (5 1/2 months post injury/ 4 1/2 months post surgery) and had 4 flights (paragliding). It was heaven!!! My knee felt great. I had no problems at all and am looking forward to heading to the Alps to fly in 8 weeks!

When I first realized the extent of my injury, I thought it would be forever before I would be able to fly again. I won't say that time flew by, but I put my focus on PT and gradual steps. It worked for me and I just want to let everyone know you will be back too (before you know it!)

Hang in there and focus on your gains, not your setbacks, because you will experience both on the road to recovery. Stay positive!

Congratulations! I had my acl patellar surgery 2 weeks and 5 days ago. It's still swollen and I limp quite a bit when I walk. My doctor told me not to bend more than 90 degree since my miniscus needs to heal. I'm just taking one step at a time since my insurance doesn't provide me with anything. I'm still waiting for pt. Well, I hope to be back on my feet like you soon.
