Missa's ACL Storie

My sophmore year in high school i was starting to shine on the basketball court. I even started dressing and playing varsity. A little more than half-way through the season the worst thing EVER happened to me. I tore my right ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Some girl's knee slammed into my knee and i heard the grossest sound i have ever heard. I thought for sure it was the worst thing that ever happened to me.

About a month later I had surgery and it was hell. I went through 5 months of hard physical therapy. My knee wouldn't go straight so the first hour of physical therapy was putting a 10 pound ankle weight across my knee to try to make it straight. Every time i went to therapy i told myself i was for sure never injuring myself again.

Basketball season rolled around again and i was just starting to get into the hang of playing sports again. About 3 games into the season i tore my left ACL and meniscus. I did a jump stop and landed on my left knee wrong. I heard the pop and fell to thee ground crying and screaming "i did it again!"

I went through another surgery and it was just as bad as i remembered it. I am petrified to play sports again. It sucks so bad because im 17 and don't have the mindset to play basketball my senior year.

Good luck to anyone going through this surgery!
