Question - Tendons Breakdown in the Shoulder

My mother just had surgery to repair tendons in her shoulder...but the x-rays did not show the severity of the problem.

After going in to repair the tendons the doctor realized that the tendons had worn away and it was bone rubbing on bone, and other then scrapping the area, there was nothing else he could do.

He proceeded to tell my mother that she would be going for therapy and she was going to be limited to what she could do with that shoulder as he could not fix the problem.

My mother is 64 years old and has worked extremely hard since she was 13 .

Is there any type of injections that could take the place of those tendons between the bones to help relieve the pain?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
