Shoulder balance
by: Bart - SII

The muscles of the shoulder are the primary stabilizers of the humeral head in the socket. Their job is to keep the humerus centered in the socket during shoulder movements. The muscles all contract together to keep the humerus centered - so if one set of muscles is much stronger or tighter than the other, then the balance is thrown off and the humerus is not centered in the socket, leading to problems like shoulder impingement and instability.
